Talisker Whisky Challenge
For the last 50 days we have been eagerly following these amazing girls on their epic journey 3000 miles across the Atlantic. Back on the 12th of December our heroines Jemma Rix and Lauren Woodwiss left the marina in La Gomera laughing as they embarked on the adventure of a lifetime! Rowing on average 60 miles a day this pair have not only brought back many tales of sharks, flying fish and whales, but they managed the crossing in just 50 days. The intrepid pair spent Christmas and New Year on board the Boudicea and Jemma also turned 30 on the Atlantic - we can’t imagine a much more extreme way to celebrate.
Now they are safely back on dry land we can officially congratulate them on breaking the WORLD RECORD for FASTEST FEMALE PAIR in the 2018 Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge!! Rowing the Atlantic Ocean with a time of 50 days, 5 hours and 53 minutes, beating the record by a little over 1 hour!! You can read more about life on the Atlantic here. Including a favourite highlight - Lady Gaga power hour with dolphins. "Powering down waves in the middle of the Atlantic with ‘poker face’ blaring out and dolphins either side of you is a fairly surreal experience"

They are also quickly approaching their fund-raising goal of an incredible £30,000 with donations going to 3 amazing charities. Find out more about who they are and why Jemma and Lauren choose them below.
